Summer Fun: Baby Alannah at 9 months
With the girls out of school, Erin thought that Alannah's 9 month summer shoot would be the perfect opportunity to get the whole family together in the backyard for photos and fun. She spread out a beach towel so we could hang out, swing on the swing set and splash on the water table (not to be confused with a pool table, Eddie pointed out).
I remember thinking Alannah looked just like Eddie when she was born. Now when I look at Alannah I see Erin, she has Erin's eyes for sure. Other times Alannah looks just like her sister Ella. I have enjoyed watching her grow and seeing her friendly little personality emerge: when I got down on the floor to shoot she crawled right into my lap! It made picture taking a challenge for a little while there but I didn't mind, that's what wide angle lenses are for:
Ella and Maddie got down in the grass to play with their baby sister. We did a silly tongue picture but I think Alannah decided it was too silly for her!
It was Maddie's idea to take pictures on the front stoop with Maggie May, the family's timid chihuahua. I really liked the one posey shot we got with all 4 subjects looking at the camera.
Its been awhile since I have rolled around in grass, perhaps too long, I actually got a little itchy after the shoot. Maddie collected grasshoppers and kept them under a water glass for observation. Ella was learning how to jump off a swing, which is a brave acrobatic feat. It was a perfect, sunny summer afternoon.
