Natalie & Matt's Wedding on Sunday, June 29, 2008

While we have been shooting all over Virginia, we haven't shot a Richmond wedding since mid-May! Natalie and Matt's wedding brought us back to our hometown where their ceremony took place at the beautiful Temple Beth-El in the upper Fan. Nat and Matt decided to knock out the formal shots before the ceremony began so we set up a meeting for them to see each other in the Chapel before the photo frenzy began. I have to admit that I am liking these pre-ceremony meetings more and more because you get to have these magic moment twice, see what I mean?

After the ceremony we headed to Belle Isle for a few photos and then to the Omni Hotel where cocktail hour was already in progress. Prior to Nat and Matt's wedding I had never seen a french fry bar before: it was stocked with thick fries, fan fries and skinny fries as well as every topping you could dream up for dipping. Move over mashed potato bar, the spuds have officially won me over...

Speaking of details, check out the array of bright colors that made the day. Natalie's dress was so fantastic, the back of it reminded me of a modified Indian sari, a garment that a fashion designer once told me was uniquely dignified and sexy in equal parts.

The ballroom looked fabulous and everyone danced the night away. Matt may have escaped a cake smashing from Natalie but not from the groomsmen, who got him good:

Oh, and can I mention that this is the grandmother I hope to be someday?

Congrats Nat and Matt, we had such a great time shooting for you both. We want to thank the Baron and DeNardo families for their hospitality, we felt more like friends than the hired help. We're already looking forward to doing it again at Caitlin and Harry's wedding in January at the Mill!

Here's a slideshow of our favorites from the day. If you are a guest and would like to be notified by email when all the photos are available for viewing, click here.

When you begin with such a beautiful bride and handsome groom, there could only be stunning photographs as a result. My eyes are once again filled with happy tears.
I am honored to have been part of your special day.
Much love,
