Laura & Chris' Wedding on Saturday, July 5, 2008

Laura and Chris decided to get married where they met, at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Actually, I'm not sure if they met at W&M itself or on a class trip to Thailand with the business school but either way, I am fairly certain the magic happened in Thailand.

Through the course of heartfelt speeches we learned that Laura and Chris are adventurous travelers, affirming what we had learned just an hour or so earlier when the couple suggested a trek in full wedding regalia across campus through a thunderstorm to take photos at the Crim Dell, the site of their engagement. It was a bit of role reversal since I am usually the one to suggest a photographic adventure but I had reservations on this one: electronics in thunder and pouring rain makes me a little nervous. Then again, my grandmother used to explain thunderstorms to me as a kid by saying, "Don't be afraid, God is just bowling and the angels are taking pictures!" So by that logic, what could go wrong? And isn't it a matter of divine duty to take photos then? As I watched Laura climb the steep incline of the bridge in heels I decided I had to stop being such a sissy and trust the gear. We all survived just fine and while I don't know how the angels did, our stuff turned out pretty good...

As we reached the reception at Ford's Colony Country Club, the color scheme shifted from deep pinks to include forest green, one of the William and Mary colors. Check out the swatch:

It was great to see the Seibert family again and we hope that everyone enjoyed a long holiday weekend Colonial-style. Here's a slideshow with our favorites from the day and if you were a guest and would like to be notified by email when all the photos are available for viewing, click here. Congrats once again Laura and Chris, enjoy the reception in California this weekend!

Those shots in the bride's dressing room are beautiful. I also really love the composition you did of all the colors.

Great work!
