Shaena & Travis' Wedding on Sunday, May 25, 2008

Thanks to those of you who have been anxiously awaiting this post for your patience, between a two wedding weekend and a short work week we got a little behind with the blog!

Our second Memorial Day travel adventure took us to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens where Shaena and Travis were married. The day was crazy sunny as S&T took their vows before a small group of family and friends in front of the fountain.

Instead of renting a hall or restaurant for a reception, S&T did something unique: they rented a grand beach house in Sandbridge, a remote strip of ocean near Virginia Beach, where family and friends would enjoy an extended party as they stayed on for a few days of fun in the sun. The house was equipped with a pool, volleyball net, and Travis' favorite - a massive flat screen TV for movies at night. Everyone ditched their formal duds shortly after arriving at the house and dug into some good ol' Southern bbq while enjoying sun and tunes out in the sand. This style swatch should give you a feel for it:

This was officially my first wedding that ended in white and black bathing suits for the bride and groom! We hope everyone enjoyed their stay at the beach and that the newlyweds enjoyed plenty of good times and left over bbq after everyone else headed home. Talk about a wedding you want to be invited to... Here's a slideshow with our favorites and if you would like to be notified by email when all the photos are available for viewing, click here.
