Michele & Craig's Wedding on Saturday, June 14, 2008

While we love the Northern Neck in general, I'm especially fond of the beautiful village of Irvington where the DC based couple chose to have their destination wedding. Their ceremony took place at Irvington Baptist Church, right across the street from the Hope and Glory Inn, with a reception overlooking Carter's Creek at the Tides Inn.

Most of the time I'm perfectly happy that photos aren't accompanied by sound, I have grown to like the simplicity of a frame in time as an isolated, visual experience. But you just won't get the full beauty of Michele and Craig's ceremony through our photos without the music itself. Craig is a member of the Virginia Gentlemen, a tradition in men's acappella at the University of Virgnia. Members of the group performed throughout the event for the couple and their guests. Cocktail hour was the highlight as Craig serenaded his bride... along with a little help from his friends. We were glad that Kris was there from Dolce Video to get all the good stuff in motion.

It was such a glorious day and a pleasure to shoot because we enjoy Michele and Craig so much. They even remembered that it was Sam's birthday and gave him a gift, how sweet is that? They got him a DVD of episodes from Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp... which has been a fun running joke ever since their engagement shoot...together we will bring back the Evolution Revolution band! We have the best clients on the planet, I swear.

We also have to give a shout out to one of our very favorite event planners, Sallie from Williamsburg Weddings and Events, who did a fabulous job coordinating all the details and running the show from behind the scenes. Here's a swatch so you can get a sense of their classic style. I have to admit that Michele's bouquet is one of the prettiest in color, texture and shape that I have seen in awhile:

Here's a slideshow with some of our favs from the day and if you would like to be notified by email when all the photos are available for viewing, click here. Congrats again to you both. Your DVD with all the photos is likely to be a two disc set with some Lancelot Link revival footage, watch out!
