Jessica & Hudson's Wedding on Saturday, May 24, 2008

We visited both the mountains and the beach over Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday we drove out to Luray, which it turns out I have been mispronouncing my whole life: its"LOO-ray, not "lure-AY". Or, I was told, I could just call it "God's Country".

Jessica and Hudson were married at Rileyville Baptist Church with a reception held on the estate of a close family friend, who also happens to be the sheriff. It was our second Markowitz event and we were glad to see Ben, Carrie, and crew again. You'll hear more about Ben's new role with team Worthington very soon.

Its easy to associate Memorial Day with maiden voyages to the beach and 3 day weekends but when you drive through Luray and see all the flags on display you are reminded that its about something else. Whenever I looked through the lens at vibrant blue skies, red bridesmaids dresses, and Jessica looking so beautiful in white everything seemed to be in its perfect time and place. Jessica even got red parasols for the girls and we had a good time with those, check out this style swatch to see more on how it all came together:

To know Jessica is to love her, she is all giggles and smiles and we find herself and Hudson a joy to photograph. Because they wanted to knock out most of the posed photographs before the ceremony, we set up a spot behind the church for them to meet each other and take it all in before the photo frenzy began. The wind was in cooperation to make the moment:

Here's a slideshow of our favorites from the day. If you would like to be notified by email when all the photos are available for viewing, click here. Congratulations Jessica and Hudson, everything was so beautiful from the emotion in the foreground to the mountains in the distance.
