Laura & Jason's Wedding on April 5, 2008

Laura and Jason's wedding brought us to the base at Quantico where they would be married at the Marine Chapel and celebrate at the Officer's Club.
Laura put her dress on in the "cry room", a 3x8 foot glass encased room in the balcony of the chapel designed for parents who want to enjoy the service even if their children are determined not to. Its funny how a less-than-ideal location always opens up opportunities for interesting pictures: despite the confining space, the texture of the unfinished walls resonates with Laura's vintage inspired dress and elegant gloves. Is there anything more classic than a pair of ladies white gloves?

Sam got some cool pictures of Jason and the guys before the ceremony too, these were a couple of my favorites. It was all about wall textures for some reason...

A piper played before and after the ceremony, leading guests to the reception across the street. Laura wore a sash and I loved this shot, with just a lock of the lovely lass' red hair...

Here's a swatch with more details, including table cards that Laura made herself:

Towards the end of the reception, a tradition we had never seen before took place. Jason was blindfolded and brought before 6 seated guests, one of which was Laura. He was told that he couldn't leave with the bride until he could identify his true love, by her legs only! It was quite entertaining and luckily, he chose wisely. But we already knew that...

I'm not sure what's going on here but I detect some Laura happy dance... Lots of happiness to you both!

Here's a slideshow with more of our favorites from the day. If you are a guest and would like to be notified by email when all the photos are available for viewing, click here.
