Welcome, Baby Caroline!
On January 22nd Catherine and John welcomed their daughter, Caroline Elizabeth, into the world along with many adoring family members and friends. I am so excited to be photographing Caroline's first year of life and our very first photo shoot took place last Thursday when she was just over 2 weeks old. Auntie Carolyn, Catherine's twin sister, joined us for our first shoot. While I wasn't really supposed to photograph the grown ups, I couldn't help but snap a few photos of the twins as they worked together to soothe Caroline, it was just so sweet and I know how much these photos will mean to Caroline some day.
Caroline's nursery is full of bright colored animals and toys. The late morning light made everything seem even more saturated and bright.
We tried everything we could think of to lull little Caroline to sleep but she wasn't having any of it, despite her exhaustion she struggled to stay awake and aware. Like most newborns who want only to be held close, she wasn't so keen on being posed on the guest bed. When Catherine picked her up for a cuddle break, Lucy the cat jumped onto the bed and showed us that she was more than willing to model for us if Caroline wouldn't... and I was happy to oblige...

what a wonderful collection of shots - I especially love all the little details... And that last one of her on the bed is precious!
