Kristin and Jeff's Wedding on Saturday, October 7, 2006
"Great day for a wedding!" three different people said to me with a wink as they shook the water out of their umbrellas upon entering the church. Kristin and Jeff's wedding confirmed what I have always thought: that a great wedding is made by the people present and it was pretty apparent that everyone was there to have a good time no matter what the sky decided to do.Wedding photographers gripe about the rooms where brides get ready and preschool classrooms are high on the hit list: cluttered with toys and plastered with bright colored posters and artwork, its not exactly an ideal location for photos. I had some fun with it though, especially when I learned that Kristin was getting ready in the very room where she attended preschool herself at Wellbourne United Methodist Church, where the ceremony took place.

Kristin and Jeff added a lot of personal touches to their ceremony and celebration. Kristin's grandmother made her a baby blanket which she clung to as a child. In an effort to wean her off the blanket, her grandmother would tell her over and over that she had to give up the blanket because you can't walk down the aisle with it on your wedding day. So, as a surprise, that's exactly what Kristin did (well, almost - her dad stashed it in his jacket as they processed). Kristin presented the wrapped blanket to her grandmother at the end of the aisle and I love her reaction when she figures out what it is:

The reception took place at Kristin's parent's house in Hadensville within a tent on the property. Kristin, her bridesmaids and both the mothers of the bride and groom wore "crocs" to the reception so they could dance despite the mud, the mom's crocs even matched their dresses. As a surprise, Kristin's dad lined the walk way to the tent with pink flamingos and scattered them around the yard. Occasions Event Planning did an amazing job coordinating the fall themed details and were a pleasure to work with. At the end of the night, Kristin and Jeff made a getaway in a classic t-bird despite the chill!
